What Your Enemy, The Devil Doesn’t Want You To Know.

By now, you should realize that you have a lifelong enemy; Satan. Every day when you wake up, you are entering a spiritual battle, the battle for your soul. Satan would love nothing more than to ensure that you remain unaware, unprepared, and deceived. Once you realize this, you will begin to recognize his evil works in your daily life. When it comes to the plans of the enemy, there are no limits to how far he will go or how low he will stoop to walk out his evil plans that are specifically devised for you. For Satan to do this, he must bank on you not knowing the truth and power of God.

He Doesn’t Want You To Know- The Side You Choose Matters

There are 2 groups of people Satan knows he will deal with. The people who are not walking with God, whether they are unbelievers, worshiping a false Christ thinking they are saved, or involved in a false religion, including atheism. No matter which category they fall into, they are living a life apart from God, therefore not walking in the power and authority of the believer. The second group of people Satan deals with are the Holy Spirit-filled Christians, the people who will give him a run for his money. The people who are aware of their authority in Christ Jesus and keen to the truth of the Word of God. I imagine before Satan can unveil his plans of attacks, he must first figure out which of the 2 categories the individual falls into.

You have heard it said before when talking about going into a battle that you must know your enemy to truly defeat them. The same goes for the unseen war you are smack in the middle of, whether you want to be. There are many things your enemy doesn’t want you to know. There were some definite things I noticed Satan doing when I began to seek God. He constantly threw distractions my way, attempting to get my focus off of Jesus. He often stirred up confusion in me in hopes it would breed doubt and unbelief. Not only that, but he tried in many ways to influence me into manipulating scripture by taking it out of context or replacing the truth of scripture with something more appealing to my flesh.

He Doesn’t Want You To Know- There Can Be Only One

Before we dive into this topic, I must clarify one thing. You are either a Holy Spirit-filled follower of Christ or you are separated from God. There is no gray area in this, it’s black or white. I know people do not like to hear this, but the truth doesn’t consider your feelings or if it will offend you. The truth is that you are on God’s team, or you are on Satan’s team. I’m sure someone out there is saying right now, “What if I don’t even believe in God or Satan?” The answer to that question is simple. “It doesn’t matter what you believe, because facts are facts and the truth is the truth.” “Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.” Matthew 12:30 (NIV).

You need to go into this knowing that you can only belong to one of these two categories. If you are lukewarm claiming to be a Christian but doing nothing to overcome your sin, not spending any time with God in prayer, and not reading the Bible you are not on God’s team. That should worry you. Look at what Jesus says in Revelation 3:15-16, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”

When it comes to who you serve, you either serve God or Satan. You cannot serve God half-heartedly either, you are all in or all out. So many so-called Christians fail to remain on the side of God, constantly toeing the line, keeping one foot on each side. It’s time to get serious about where you stand in this.

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!  And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15(NKJV).

He Doesn’t Want You To Know- His Tactics

Satan doesn’t want people who are estranged from God to come to Jesus. Satan, rather, you rely on anything other than God. He will trick you into relying on yourself, others, and things of the world. The enemy much rather you play mental gymnastics, stressing yourself out and making bad decisions based on the absence of truth.

Your enemy, The Devil, will use others to draw you further away from God with lousy advice. Never forget, God can also send people, and messengers to you to lead you to the truth. So be mindful of those moments in your life, don’t just shrug them off. The enemy loves it when humans rely on and worship things of the world. This can be money, drugs, fame, people, and sin in general. For instance; when someone is having a bad day, and they rely on drugs or alcohol to find relief. Also, a person who bases everything they do on increasing the amount of wealth or possessions they have.

He Doesn’t Want You To Know- It’s Not All About You

The Bible tells us that Satan is the god of this world. This is illustrated in how the world teaches humanity to fixate on themselves, constantly pushing us towards self-reliance, self-help, and self-love. Coaxing us to seek self-enlightenment and to allow our behavior to be an extension of our self-expression. Self, self, self, it’s unmistakable whose doctrine this comes from. Satan was incredibly self-concerned, it was that very mentality that caused his fall. Following this way of life will be your greatest downfall.

He Doesn’t Want You To Know- The Believers Authority

If Satan cannot stop you from seeking God, his backup plan is to ensure that you are not serving God in truth. This is why we see so many false renditions of Christ being worshiped today. A Christ that excuses people living in rebellion against God, or a Christ that doesn’t stand by what he spoke in the Bible. Lately, one of the more prevalent examples of this is visible in the New Age Movement. Believing in an “enlightened being” that embodies and represents all gods and religions.

If after all of those tricks you have managed to stay rooted in the truth, Satan will then work to keep you powerless. He may have not been able to keep you from finding God and choosing to make Jesus your Lord, but that doesn’t stop Satan. I imagine that he thinks to himself, “If I couldn’t stop them from serving God, I will stop them from knowing their authority and power in Christ.” I find this attempt to keep us from knowing the truth of who we are in Christ Jesus to be very telling. There is a great threat of a Christian standing in the authority of the believer. Satan should be threatened because when we do this, we no longer allow ourselves to be manipulated, distracted, or overcome by his tactics.

The believers’ authority allows us to go into battle confidently covered in the armor of God. It doesn’t allow any place for fear because God’s love casts out all fear. With fear no longer influencing us, we can see the lies and manipulations of Satan for what they are. The believers’ authority empowers us to declare the works of the Lord through healings, deliverances, and the power of our testimony. We do not have to remain in spiritual bondage; we do not have to allow the enemy to gain legal rights in our lives. That is why Satan will do all he can within his realm of power to keep you from knowing this. Being a Holy Spirit-filled Christian means you are walking in power and authority over the enemy, thus, he no longer has power over you or your life. As soon as you know the truth about this, you are no longer Satan’s victim, but rather his opponent.
